Neil received HNC Chemistry from Kirkcaldy College of Technology, continuing his studies in advanced chemistry at Napier University, Edinburgh. He moved to the United States with General Instrument - Microelectronics division in 1975. In 1981 he joined Advanced Micro Devices in Silicon Valley, where he still lives and works. During his career he worked at Integrated Device Technology, VLSI Technology, Silterra all in the areas of process development, process engineering, yield improvement managing teams in advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Neil held the position of VP, Business Development at A2IC, a Silicon Valley analog start-up, competing in mobile power management market space. He recently returned from Brazil having set up Ceitec SA, the first IDM company in South America.
He is a proud member of the "26.2 mile" running club and enjoys reading, food & wine and sport.
